10 Ways to Invest in Yourself in 2018!

The start of a new year is a fantastic opportunity to reset, try something new and ultimately forget the past and look daringly forward into the future. No. 1 – Books  

There’s nothing better to do than set a new year’s resolution to read more books. However, the books you choose can cover topics that improve your personal development aspirations as well. Coursera is one of the best online learning websites. You can choose from more than a thousand online courses in subjects like business, personal development, art history, and more. The courses are free or, if you would like to receive a certificate, you can pay.

Coach.me is a zero-cost personal coach and goal-tracking app. They offer over 700 personal coaches to help you reach your career goals while helping you create new ones along the way.

Have you always wanted to learn a new language but are unsure of where to begin? Duolingo makes it easy. This app provides simple lessons, resources, and challenges that will help you learn to speak a new language fluently.

If you’re looking for daily brain training, Lumosity is a great tool for just that! This smartphone app can be downloaded on either the iOS or Android platform and offers daily brain challenges, such as maintaining focus or learning new subjects and names.

No. 6 – Codecademy Codecademy

You can give yourself a competitive edge in your career by learning a new skill like coding. With Codecademy, you can learn how to code for free in all of the common languages including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ruby, and even more.

Ignite is run by volunteers globally in which speakers are allowed five minutes to talk about their passions and ideas, or interests on 20 slides that are 15 seconds each. One of the best audio platforms to invest in is podcasts this year. There are hundreds of podcasts throughout a variety of platforms that you can listen to while commuting to work, such as Great Work Interview and Achieving Predictable Success that can help you invest in yourself this new year. If you are short on time, HighBrow is a great choice for you. You can choose from a number of free or paid classes on things like happiness, history, and more. The lessons are delivered to you through your email every morning and should take no more than five minutes to read and understand.

  3. I love Stengthsfinder! It really helped me recognize the value of focusing on abilities and tendencies that I have.

    I have used Udemy for developing myself in skills. It’s similar to Coursera, but it isn’t generally taught by universities, so I imagine the teaching style is a little different.
