Thank you for choosing to take the time to explore this website. My name is David Rhoden and I would like to tell you a little about myself and what inspired me to create this blog.
When I started college, I had a firm plan and focus for my career, but by the time I reached my senior year, that focus was no longer clear and the plan was no longer firm. Nevertheless, I was able to leverage my internship experience to land a great job in a successful company. I worked really hard and was rewarded with a promotion within just 6 months. But only after about a year or so, I found myself struggling to find satisfaction at work.
While occupying different positions throughout my career, I’ve experienced what it’s like to be extremely disengaged at work, and believe no one should have to share that experience. I believe that work should be awesome, personally satisfying and aligned with a person’s core values. I’m a firm believer in the idea that every person is born with a unique purpose and the unlimited potential to accomplish it.
My goal is to facilitate a practical conversation to help readers and listeners grow personally and professionally to find their niche in life. Over several years, I’ve learned the importance of self-discovery, networking, and education in helping me find and craft a more satisfying career. I write this blog not as an expert in the field or as someone who has figured it all out, but as a fellow classmate in this school called life, who loves a good conversation on personal and professional development. David Rhoden currently serves as the Director of HR Analytics for a large food management service provider operating in 21 countries around the world. In his role David is responsible for delivering insights about the company’s workforce to enable organizational growth and productivity.
David is a proud alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University where he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the Smeal College of Business. He also holds a Master’s of Science degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University. During his career David has worked on a number of large-scale HR initiatives leveraging data and analytics to improve the employee experience and enable organizational effectiveness.
